Ben Shelton is the director of the Netflix Original film Candy Jar starring Christina Hendricks, Uzo Aduba, Jacob Latimore, Sami Gayle and Helen Hunt. The film is a romantic comedy that was shot in Atlanta, Georgia, and is currently in post-production, and will be released later this year.
Shelton is also the creator of the scripted TV comedy series Impress Me. He wrote & directed all 13 episodes of the first season, which is executive produced by Rainn Wilson. Impress Me stars Ross Marquand (The Walking Dead) and Jim Meskimen (Parks & Recreation) as celebrity impressionists who want to be dramatic actors. Impress Me aired on Pop TV and is being distributed internationally by Hat Trick International. The half-hour comedy co-stars Angela Kinsey (The Office), Dana DeLorenzo (Ash vs. Evil Dead), Piotr Michael (MadTV) and Melissa Villasenor (Saturday Night Live).
Shelton’s other credits include the creator/writer/director of The Daly Show (starring Tim Daly; distributed by Virgin America), the creator/writer/director of The FlipSide (distributed by SoulPancake Productions), writer/director of Metaphysical Milkshake (starring Rainn Wilson), the director of Bad Guys (a pilot presentation for NBC), and the director of Kid President: Commander in Chaos (for Kid President: Declaration of Awesome on the HUB network). In addition to his film and television credits, Shelton’s work online has amassed more than 20 Million views, including many award-winning short films such as My Name Is Lisa (Winner of Best Short Film, 2007 YouTube Awards).

A Southern California native, Shelton earned a BA in Theatre Arts at the University of Puget Sound, and he received his film school education from visiting sets, sharing lunches, and watching Laker games with his uncle, writer/director Ron Shelton (Bull Durham, White Men Can’t Jump, Tin Cup).
